Subject / Issue: LNDhub on Umbrel fails to send payments with LND 0.21.x (gRPC UNIMPLEMENTED: unknown method SendPayment)

Hi everyone,

I encountered an issue with the LNDhub app on Umbrel when trying to send a Lightning payment from BlueWallet connected to my node.

Description

  • Receiving payments works fine (/addinvoice).

  • Sending payments consistently fails with Payment in transition / aborted in BlueWallet, and no payment attempt reaches LND.

Error Logs

Inspecting the LNDhub container logs (lndhub@1.4.1) reveals that LNDhub is still attempting to call the legacy gRPC method SendPayment, which has been deprecated and removed in recent LND releases:

  • Umbrel LNDhub image version: 1.4.1

  • LND Version: 0.21.3-beta (commit 572b561bf05f03dfe6135110970c4d858c3482dc)

  • Client: BlueWallet (Android)

Cause & Request

The current LNDhub container package shipped on Umbrel needs to be updated to support the modern router RPC (routerrpc.SendPaymentV2) instead of the legacy lnrpc.Lightning.SendPayment, which causes the 12 UNIMPLEMENTED RPC status code on modern LND nodes.

Could you please push an updated build of the LNDhub app to the Umbrel App Store?
