If you’re using the [Specter Desktop app](http://umbrel.local/app-store/specter-desktop) on Umbrel, you do not need to follow these instructions as Specter automatically connects to Bitcoin Core on Umbrel. ## Instructions 1. Make sure Tor is up and running on your system. [Click here](http://community.umbrel.com/t/setup-tor-on-your-system/7509) for instructions. 2. Disable _ **Auto-detect** _. 2. After verifying, click _ **Save** _. Congratulations! You have successfully connected Specter Desktop to your Umbrel. ---

Specter Desktop currently does not work with Bitcoin Core v28. Specter Desktop developers are aware of the issue: [KeyError: 'error' in getblockchaininfo when the 'error' key is missing in the RPC response · Issue #2473 · cryptoadvance/specter-desktop · GitHub](https://github.com/cryptoadvance/specter-desktop/issues/2473). I think once the issue is resolved the app will be available again. ---

It looks like the bug has been fixed on the Specter side. Hopefully the app can be re-enabled in the Umbrel app store soon? +1 to bring specter back to the Umbrel appstore.
