# Proper way to copy downloaded files into an USB

I download big files using umbrel and Transmission since the umbrel machine is directly attached to my router as opposed to all other devices which work on wifi. So, let’s say I have a big file downloaded, hoy would you transfer it to a pendrive? Do I have to SSH to my umbrel and do the copy paste operation over CLI? Is there any system file browser available on the apps?

There is the “file browser” application which works OK but it does have limitations.
My experience is that it starts on /home/umbrel/umbrel/data/storage directory and no other …
Well I have not attempted to create a symlink to another place so you could try that.
Since you spoke about torrents I put my download directories as subdirectories there works fine.
“file browser” does allow the definition of other users with their own stuff … Don’t know if that’s of any interest to you.
Might be interesting to separate the work of transmission …
