# New software update/release

There hasn’t been a software update for a while now, has it?  
Is Umbrel still being developed or is it wiser to step over to an alternative?  
I hope they are still developing.

Hey @Alex-little-node ! The latest version of Umbrel is v0.5.1 released on July 14  
You can have a look at it [[here](http://community.umbrel.com/t/umbrel-0-5-1-is-out-with-app-release-notes-and-bug-fixes/8703)] 😁  
Of course, Umbrel is still in development and you should see regular app updates on the Umbrel app store 🔥
