# Error trying to recover Umbrel lightning channels backup

Hi there.

After some months with my node down, I’ve built it up from zero running the lastest version of Umbrel.  
When I try to recover my channels with the backup file, I get this error message:

“Unable to recover channel backup, unable to unpack chan backup: chacha20poly1305: message authentication failed.”

Any ideas to sort it out?
