# Can not install Umbrel OS 1.1.1 on old notebook with just Legacy boot mode

My old notebook with just Legacy Boot Mode do not boot on new USB Installer of Umbrel OS 1.1.1.  
I tried boot with newer notebook with UEFI boot and worked, but I wish install it on my old notebook.  
And now, I can not install the old Umbrel OS 0.5 version because the script is not accessible.  
So, can not I use Umbrel OS anymore in my old notebook?

the x86 OS image need to be more robust for older hardware. I couldn’t load the image on two different hardware types. However, was able to build ubuntu 23.04 and 24.04 and said hardware. Please include more hardware support!!!

Hi try installing [Ventoy](https://ventoy.net/en/index.html) on a usb stick and putting the iso on the stick and do ctrl+r to enter grub 2 compatibility mode then after you have instaled umbrel os use [super grub disk](https://www.supergrubdisk.org/) to boot then install grub manualy
