Add existing library to Immich

I looked in a previous thread that seemed to fix this problem, but the .yml file is a bit different since I’m on the latest version.

I was previously on UGOS and had many issues with is so I’m trying Umbrel which has been a much more pleasant experience especially, with Paperless-ngx.

I added existing photos on UGOS through the use of the external libraries feature, but I’m having issues on Umbrel. I tried the recommendation of @lavolo but my efforts only make the app crash.

Will please someone comment on the attached .yml file alteration and what I"m doing wrong.

hey, you can do this through Umbrel’s settings now, no need to edit the .yml! Go to Settings > App Settings > Immich > Storage > Access to your folders > External Library and select the folder with your existing photos.

I’d undo the .yml changes you made first, since those are causing the app to crash, then use the settings above instead. That also avoids having to maintain manual changes when the app updates.

Thank you. That is so much easier than the usual way. Umbrel is making so many more things easier.
